1/ ,' Approved For R*a4 2003/07/01 : CIA-RDP80R01731 R001200020027-2 COUNCIL' ON FOREIGN RELATIONS, INC. THE HARtOLD PRATT HOUSE . 58 EAST 68'L'H STREET NEW YORK 21, N. Y. June 19, 1953 I am sending you herewith a statement of the Council's financial position, includ- ing a proposed consolidated budget for 1953- 54, which was approved by the Finance Commit- tee today. I am sure you will be glad to know that a balanced budget for the current year 1952-53 is now assured. The Finance Committee considered with care a proposed new pension plan for the Council. As certain revisions and a great deal of new figuring will be necessary be- fore the Board meeting on Thursday, the revised plan will not be sent out before- hand, but will be submitted to the Board at that time. Dr. Wriston has asked me to state that at the meeting an amendment to Arti- cle Five of the By-Laws will be considered giving the Committee on Studies "power to co-opt not to exceed five additional mem- bers" instead of four as at present. I hope you may be with us on Thursday. Very sincerely, George S f Franklin, Jr. Acting Executive Director ILLFGIB Approved For Release 2003/07/01 : CIA-RDP80R01731 R001200020027-2
