As one of those who attended the dinner last
Friday night at the Council on Foreign Relations, I
want to thank you for the fine address which you de-
livered and for the leadership you are supplying in
the Eisenhower administration in your present post.
It is extremely heartening to those who know you
that you have been willing to assume this responsi-
bility.
Your talk inspired me to write a little
piece for one of our local papers, a copy of which
I am enclosing. I hope very much that you will
proceed with the formulation of our objectives, about
which you spoke.
