COUNCIL ON FOREIGN RELATIONS, J)
THE HAROLD PRATT HOUSE 58 EAST 68TH STREET
NEW YORK 21, N. Y.
August 30, 1955
As you know, our new building next door to the Council is
almost completed and we shall be ready to move into it sometime
late in October. In addition to office space, it will have on
the ground floor a meeting room somewhat smaller than our present
small meeting room. Frank Altschul would like to have this room
paneled with suitable maps, and it occurred to all of us that
you might have some particularly good maps which would otherwise
be unobtainable. If you could let me know about this, I would
much appreciate it.
The meeting for your brother here last Friday was one of the
best we have ever had. I thought his prepared talk on the Arab-
Israeli situation was most constructive, and the way he answered
the members' questions on a considerable variety of subjects--the
spirit of Geneva, the talks with Peiping, French North Africa,
Vietnam, and Eastern Europe was really splendid.
I gather you are shortly going off to Europe. I hope you will
have a good trip and that we will see you when you get back.
Very sincerely,
George S. Franklin, Jr.
