1. The mission of the HIS Co,: mittee, which has been
meeting frequently since 20 February 1948, is to recommend
policies governing the iirplementatior of the NIS Program
and to formulate product. ore schedules and coordinate oro-
ductio-; under thr,t Prot7ra;u,
2. Although i&ajor Aber has been officially desig-
nated as alternate Air Force member of the "iIS Committee,
he has, until his recent relief from duty with the Direc-
torate of intelligence, Air Force, frequently represented
the Director of Intelligence, US Air Force as acting member
thereof, C the6a numerous occasions, his twee intelligence,
n ~s knowledge of the capabilities of his own Agency, and his
spirit of cooperation h&v enabled hire to render valuable
assistance in the development of the NIS Program, to which
the Department of the Air Force is an important contributor.

appreciation of the Central Intelligence Agency and, I an
