1. At the Assistant Director's meeting Monday mcrnlrkg,
9 July, General Smith approved the recommendation of the paper
cited above and iftruc ted C,/IC to proceed to see vb-t ::ould be
achieved. The State Department has accepted the principles set
forth in this paper.
2. You are invited to send a representative to a meeting
in Room 2101 M Building at 10:00 o'clock Wednesday morning;. ThE
purposes of this meeting are:
a. To make clear the implications of the agreement in
principle, and
b. To agree on the next steps to be taken by the Agents
in order to implement the agreement.
