1st. If you are planning to attend this year, Beth
and I would like to invite you and your guest to
ride to Philadelphia and back on the special train
that has been arranged for the occasion. Details
concerning the train, including train fare and expenses,
are on the inclosed information sheet.

INFORMATION MEMORANDUM
1973 Army-Navy Game
The Secretary of the Army has reserved two parlor cars for use of his
invited guests for travel to the Army-Navy Game, 1 December 1973. In
addition, two coach cars, coupled in front of.the parlor cars, will provide
seating capacity for the children and friends of Mr. Callaway's guests and
for others who wish to travel to the game and return, space available.
Train fare for the parlor car is $40. 70 per person, round trip. Brunch,
snacks and drinks will be served. Train fare for those riding the coach cars
will be $25. 50 per person, round trip. On the coach cars a box lunch will
be served, including soft drinks, coffee and beer. Coach car passengers
are expected to provide their own liquour. Children under 12 can ride the
coach car for $16. 00 per person. Make all checks payable to LTC William
H. Roche.
Tentative schedule for Saturday, December 1, follows:
0825 Train departs Washington Union Station
1115 Pre-game activities
1250 Game starts
1700 (approx) Train departs JFK Stadium
1930 (approx) Train arrives Washington Union Station
The Secretary's parlor cars, R-300 and R-301 will be the end cars
(closest to the gate) of train W-3. Coach cars will be located directly in
front of them on the train (last 4 cars on Train W-3 will contain the
Secretary's party).
Please arrive at Union Station early enough to park and board the train
prior to 0820 hours. Everyone is expected to return to the train within
30 minutes after the end of the game.
There are a number of parking lots close to Union Station. However,
free parking is available in the Senate Office Building parking lot at First
and D Streets, N. E. for the Secretary's party. Call OX7-5338 for a
windshield parking permit.

Car R-301, the next-to-last car on the train, will contain a radio-
telephone for emergency communications to the Pentagon. A radio-telephone
will be available in the Superintendent's Box.

SUBJECT: Tickets for the Army-Navy Football Game
1. Again this year, as in previous years, the Army Athletic Association,
United States Military Academy, has requested this office to distribute
application blanks for the Army-Navy football game tickets to all Army
general officers in the Washington area who are not members of the Army
Athletic Association. The game will be played on Saturday, _l December
1973, at the John F. Kennedy Stadium, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
2. The inclosed application authorizes you to purchase four (4) personal-
use tickets for seating in a preferential. location in the stadium, if you
are personally going to attend the game. Should you desire tickets,
please complete the inclosed application and mail it immediately with
your remittance directly to:

The Secretary of the Army has two coach cars reserved for travel
to and from the Navy game, 2 December 1972. These cars will be the
last two cars (C-302 and C-303) on the train, W-3, located on Track 14,
Washington Union Station.
Train fare will be $19. 00 roundtrip. Train tickets will be
provided about one week before the game. The train tickets will be
stamped with the number of one of these cars. Seats, within each car,
will not be reserved by name. (Children under 12 ride for $9. 50)
Train fare checks should be made out payable to AMTRAK and
mailed or delivered to:

Brunch will be served on the trip to Philadelphia. Refreshments
will be available on both legs of the trip.

1900 (approx) Train arrives Washington Union Station
