Approved For Release 2003/07/29 : CIA-RDP80R01731 R001900060027-1 Eastern Regional Office 1701 N. Fort Myer Drive, Suite 1208 NORTHROP Arlington, Northrop Corporation Virginia 22209 20 September 1972 Lt. Gen. Vernon A. Walters Office of the Deputy Director Central Intelligence Agency Washington, D.C. 20505 Dear Dick, I don't know whether you are aware of the George C. Marshall Dinner which is held annually in connection with the AUSA activities in October. This year Bob Hope is to be given the Marshall Award and it should be a memorable occasion. The Army normally holds a Command Conference during the AUSA and senior officers from all over the world attend the celebration. It is customary for civilian member firms of the AUSA to sponsor tables for the George C. Marshall Dinner and to take a suite in connection with a pre-dinner cocktail party. Normally, the president and senior vice president of member firms attend and the melange of military and civilian leaders is interesting to observe. I have asked the AUSA to tender you an invitation to the George C. Marshall Dinner. I have also asked for Dot and Chick to attend. Our table will include both military and civilian DOD officials and Northrop senior management personnel. When you receive the invitation from the AUSA, if you accept and do not indicate that you would like to sit at the Northrop table, you will be assigned to one of our competitors sucLi as Ivlotorola, G. t., Hughes, IBM, et al; so it would be most helpful if you indicate a preference to sit at our table. The AUSA will notify us of our guests and I will then get in touch with you and tell you where to meet us. We should have a good time and you will have a wonderful opportunity to renew acquaintances with your military and civilian friends from all over the world. y ru y, 4"J~0- -, &~ S. L.
