Approved For.,Release 2006/08/09: CIA-RDP80RO1731R00190006004 41 w April 26, 1976. Dear General Walters, I have just learned of your departure from the Agency and your impending re- tirement from the Army in June. I know how the Agency will miss your strength and extraordinary capabilities. Far more important than this however, it's employees will miss the warm personal qualities and depth of human understanding that you brought to their lives. As for me, I know of no one in my thirty-two years of Government service for whom I have greater professional respect and personal admiration. Your personal counsel and support have meant more than you will ever know to Elizabeth and to me.Your friendship has made the trials and tribulations of the past two years much easier to handle. Thank you for all you have done for us. As you leave Government after so many years of dedicated service, your reputation .for total honesty and integrity will serve as an inspiration to us all, retirees and current employees. Elizabeth joins me in wishing you all possible success and happiness in your well earned retirement. You most certainly know that you can call` on us at anytime and in any way if there is ever~way in which we can be of assistance. Warmly, Approved For Release 2006/08/09: CIA-RDP80RO1731 8001900060046-0
