Though I appreciate your wanting to take a vacation from the enormous
pressures of the important positions you have held for so long, I re-
gret that you are leaving Government service. The contributions you
have made to the security of this Nation and the Free World are in-
calculable. As an American, I am most grateful.
On behalf of the entire Reserve Forces' community, I would like to
express our pride in the achievements of the Senior Reserve General
Officer in the United States Army Reserve. I hope you will stay rear
Washington and I'll be able to see you from time to time.
