Dear General Goodpaster:
Many thanks for your kind invitation to attend the
General Assembly Meeting at SHAPE on 30 September.
Unfortunately,. as I told Colonel Sittner, I cannot make
it. I will be in Europe a little later and it would be
hard for me to justify both trips so close together.
The fact that I cannot attend in no way lessens the
warm memories I retain of SHAPE and the ten years
I have spent at NATO.
