Thank you for your letter and the enclosed clipping
which I had not seen previously.
I do not believe that there is any connection with the
Vernon A. Walters of Timpaon. I was born in New York City
and my father came from England. I served in North A frica and
Europe during World War U.
During my military career I ran across another
Vernon A. Walters. He was a lieutenant (so was I at that time)
and he was from Colorado. We were not able to find any
common relatives.
Thank you for taking the trouble to write me.
With every good wish,
Faithfully,
Vernon A. Walters
Lieutenant General, USA
Deputy Director
