the current strategic situation and its impact on future relations
between the great powers. Relating personal anecdotes from your
rich and varied experience made your remarks all the more interesting.

responses to the wide range of questions were appreciated by the
students. Your comments did much to enhance student understanding

On behalf of the faculty and students of the U.S. Army Command and General
Staff College, I.wish to extend to you a most cordial invitation to speak
on "Great Power Relations, Prospects for the Mid-70's." It would be desir-
able if your presentation would include a discussion on the current strategic
situation as well as the probable nature of future conflicts by. area and type.
I understand that our preferred date of 27 February 1974 fits into your
schedule. Your presentation will be scheduled for about: 45 minutes plus
a 30 minute question period and would be classified SECRET. The audience
will be composed of staff and faculty members and approximately 1,070 U.S.
officer students including 14 Air Force, 10 Marine Corps and 4 Navy officers.
We would be delighted if your schedule will also permit you to attend a
small informal luncheon and participate in an after lecture conference
with selected students and members of the faculty who desire to examine
your subject area in more detail.
