I would like to thank you for your excellent presentation at our recent
conference, "Perspectives on Strategic Intelligence and National Security."
While the seminar certainly did not resolve all of today's pressing
problems, we were able to at least explore some of the more abstract issues
facing the intelligence and policy-making communities.
One of the goals I set for the conference was to examine broader problems
and concerns, and I feel that the session on ?JStrategic Intelligence in
the Contemporary Environment'? certainly homed in on an area of great
interest to the audience. Your overview of the intelligence community
and the numerous committees overseeing its activities served as an
excellent vehicle for getting that session off on the right foot. I was
most pleased to hear your plea not to judge the community for its past
activities based on whatever the current morality happens to be.
Again, thanks so much for your participation.
Sincerely,
HAROLD R. AARON
