Museum and Sculpture Garden (even non-museum goers
love the Hirshhorn); after the Museum we move on to the
Showcase Restaurant in L'Enfant Plaza, which is an en-
closed shopping Mall. For lunch we are being treated to
an elegant buffet with two hot entrees, two hot vegeta-

a leisure lunch, you are free to sit back and relax with

We are very excited about our excursion for the
day and hope that you will be as excited.

"A DAY WiTil YOUR LEGISLATORS"
Wednesday, May 5, 1976 should be one of the highlights of this
Administrative year.
The present planning includes:
A POLL from our entire California 1E Family including all -
Sponsored Youth AND our tiwunis Clubs of a list of
the "10 Most Burning Issues" our Legislators must
face in 1976 as felt by the 4 leaders of both housen
who submittecithem to us. We will take the result
of this enormous POLL to the north steps of the
State Capitol on may 5, 1976,
We have the committment of the Deputy Director of the ouch-
in...the-news Central Intelligence Agency, Washington,
P. C. as our luncheon speaker. Legislators are at-
reedy predicting a bnaper number of their members
will hear this hard-to-get speaker.
Each Kiwanis Club in California is urged to take a couple
of your local elected Officials as your guests for
this outstanding day.
We expect a goodly attendance from our $PONSORED YOUTH
for this occasion.
Predident, you will want to begin a carefully laid plan to
get members of your Club to participate with you in the above exciting
program. Our goal is 1000 persons there,

On May 5, 1976, over 1000 Kiwanians and their ladies, along with Key Clubbers,
Circle K and Keywanettes (the youth of the Kiwanis Family) from all over our
great State, will go to Sacramentopliforpia_for our annual "Day With Your
Legislators." This is a-17e1l-established program within our District.
These Kiwanians will be meeting with their various legislators both formally
and informally during the morning. We will be taking the rtsults of a poll
of our 37,500 K Family members to our Governor and Legislators. This is
expected to be the largest poll ever undertaken in our State by any group (as
far as we know) on several vital issues of the day.
The main affair is a luncheon when we sit down with our Legislators as our guests.
And that is precisely the point of this 1et.ter'f'""Vt'Otnt,x2u to be our guest
speaker at that occasion!!
We recognize it is several months a4ay to May 5, 1976. We alse realize we want
to get our invitation in well in advance so as to be first i /line.
Therefore, please carefully consider til1,s,lax,itAgi4a.c8nd respond with a "yes"

Dear General Walters:
February 6, 1976
TELEPHONE: 337-5220
I just wanted to express my personal appreciation to you for
the address which you offered on Saturday, January 24 at the
closing luncheon of the capitol district Kiwanis Club.
Your remarks certainly offered some interesting and thought
provoking insights into the intelligence activities of our nation,
and while I appreciate that there is much that we as citizens are
not totally aware of, it is gratifying to have the kind of men
which you and your colleagues represent handling this vitally
important aspect of our nation's security system.
I would be interested to know if the CIA has an information
office that might provide a speaker to address the Kiwanis Club
of Georgetown which meets on Wednesdays at 12:30 p.m. at Billy
Martin's Carriage House in Georgetown. I appreciate that you
yourself would not be available to speak to a group of 40 or 50
men, but I wonder if there is not someone else who could offer
the same kind of remarks to members of our club, only a few of
whom actually attended the luncheon for our capitol district
which you addressed.
Many thanks if you can refer this letter to the appropriate
office.
Sincerely,
cr,
George W. Fellendorf
President
