In the March issue of "Informacion Democratica" there
appeared a small paragraph titled "CIA in Spain" with the
following information:
on 6 March on a flight from New York, General Walters.,
the sub-Director of CIA who is in charge of the administrative
division of that organization, arrived in Madrid. The motive
of his journey was to reorganize CIA's activities in Spain
in accordance with the new line set forth by its directors
in the United States last year. Also, there was speculation
about the relationship this journey and the revision of the
Spanish/U. S. Base Agreement. In this respect the newspaper
Pueblo on the 27th of February said that a change in the use
of Spanish territory by the Pentagon would propose "a guarantee
of Spanish security against all. possible internal enemies".
