Please express my appreciation to the
President for his courtesy and thoughtfulness
in authorizing the Central Intelligence
Agency to provide me with weekly intelligence
briefings on the world situation.
The procedure outlined in your letter of
August 18 will be entirely satisfactory to
me, and I shall try to work out a schedule
for this purpose that will be as convenient
as possible.
Unfortunately, my itinerary is not yet
sufficiently definite to establish specifc
dates or places at this time, but Mr. Green
will provide this information on a short-
range basis in the near future.
