delay in replying to your l r of August 5th is
due to the fact that I wanted person&Uy to go over all the
circumstances it mlved in your possible empicWment by the
Agency. As you know., I felt very strongly that you would
be useful to us.
You are also aware, hra svey, that the laws and reegu3; w-
dons under which this Agency operates are particularly
drastic. Under the circumstances pr*esntly existing, there
is absolutely no use in la= your emp1q cent b re,
To do so would involve and yourself in a series of

vestigations which wart particularly trying for her and,
while you probably would case through in the and with flying
colors, I do not think that it would be right to subject you
to such an ordeal, As you said in your letter, bath you and
