2, It has occurred to a nuMbor of us over here that the Shove
name should be called to your attention as someone who might be of
groat service to the Psychological Strategy Board in a very high level
on the staff. He is a physicist long associated with the Carnegie
Institut* or vs/most= iho has recently had extensive emperience in
Coverrseent and has had occasion to vivo a good deal of thoudst to the
problems faced by the MR.
2. He woeked for a time in the office of the Secretary of State as
his scientific advisor and as coordinator for military assistance. I was
closely associated with him on the Tr w project of which he was a member
and to which he contributed greatly both oa the scientilie and oft the
organizational aspects of the problem. Pis present position, which he
has held for about a year, is ?resident of qt.sociatod Universities, Inc,
and Director of the Brookhaven laboratories on Long Island, an orranisa-
tion set up by several of the Universities to conduct rescarch into
nuclear problems. A more detailed history of his activities is attached.
