SUBJECT: CIA Library Services
1. Reference is made to AD/HR memorandum on the subject,
dated 11 October 1951 and memorandum to AD/CD from CIA Librarian
on the subject dated 16 October 1951.
2. OSI concurs in the points raised by AD/RI? in his memo-
randum and in the constructive recommendations made by the CIA
Librarian to provide the best possible library service to the
Agency.
3. Comment on specific items of the recommendations is sub-
mitted as follows:
a. Recommendation 4 - Project IV - It would be helpful
if the status of the Branch Library for OPC were clarified.
The other offices of the Agency should be assured that this
Branch Library will be keyed into the main Library and that
documents held there will be available to other CIA offices,
b. Recommendation 6 - It is assumed that tAis request
for additional space will be considered in addition to the
current and planned allocations for the offices in I'M" and
tiQu Buildings and will not be at the expense of the other
offices.
