1 BRIEFING Accompanied seven Senate
Select Committee on n e gence staff members to an all day orientation
briefing on the Agency. Staff members attending included Janice Coil, 25X1
2'5X1?. Kenneth de Graffenreid, Angelo Codevilla, Susan Mahler,. Keith Raffel,
Patrick Norton and Abram Shulsky. Raffel joined us mid:-way, after
receiving his compartmented briefing. Speakers were Jim Taylor, Comptroller,
on Agency overview Zellrner

LIAISON Talked to. Jean Evans, Senate
Select Committee on Intelligence staff, several times in an attempt to set up..
meetings for him. We agreed he would meet wit C/CI Staff, 25X1
on 7 October at 3:30 p.m. and that he and Ed Levine, also of the Committee
staff, would review materials on the morning of 7 October. 25X1
Evans asked about S. 1264, a bill which would affect the Agency's
procurement authorities' I an told Evans' we were aware of the bill and would
ask of OLC, to call him on it.
25X1 3 LIAISON Talked with Tom Moore, Senate
Select Committee on Intelligence staff, and Elsie Vance, Executive Assistant
to Senator Gary Hart (D., Colo.), and set up an appointment with Senator
Hart and Moore on 6 October at 3:00 p.m. with Robert Gambino, Director of
Security. Gambino will discuss the Director's industrial security program.
4. I ILIAISON Called Barbara Chesnik, Senate
Select Committee on Intelligence staff, about her request for a recent report
on Soviet arms aid to the third world. I told Chesnik I had a recently
released unclassified report on the same subject but that it covered all types
of aid not just military. She said she had found the study I was referring to
and I could drop her request for a copy.
