The assess- ment is to assume Burmese acquiescence in the use of their territory.# @UESTIgNS BEARING ON THE PROBLEM I. GENERAL A. What principal political/mi.Litary/economic considerations affect directly the Chinese Communists capabilities for launching air and ground attacks against India through Burma? ~' This ass pan would ' preclude the active support of the Burmese population, ecgnamy, and military forces, but would include the use by the Chineso of all transportation facilities, including airfields, along the path of their attack. Z~Jhat would be the ob3ectives of these attack? C. Discuss Chinese Communist logistic capabilities and limitations on the Chinese side of the border, in Burmai and in India. D. Describe the climatic and geographic factors that would affect the nature and timing of such a campaign. E. Describe the number and type of units and the type of oper~.ti.ons which the Chinese could support in this theater. F. That effect would such a campaign have on Chinese mili- tary capabilities in the Tibet-Sinkiang area?
