(FOR KEY SEE REVERSE) Castle (probably Kronshtadt, N 59-59, E 29-45). vessel passed the battleship W at anchor slightly west of Fort Crown vessel passed the B 361 outside Kronshtadt 50X1-HUM harbor, The vessel was painted grsV and had three funnels; the B 69 passed) vessel en route to the harbor. See sketch No, 1, page Q., and was probably being equipped. Ten submarine chasers of the B~ class were tied upside by side at a pier, (For locations, see sketch No. 3, points B. D, and E, page Q 6. Around the office building occupied by Inflot (point F on sketch No. 3) there were four radio masts approximately 15 meters tall. On the first floor of the directly aft of the bridge. Direction finding antenna and radio scanner were on the mast. There were two sll.arting funnels, torpedo tubes between the funnels, a short tripod mast directly forward of the second funnel, and two gun turrets on the after deck. The destroyer did not have a number or a name, but on the funnels there were patched-over areas where the recognition signals usually were.painted. On the starboard side of the first mast there was flying the signal ZZ. (See sketch No, 2, page 3, and point A on sketch No. 3, page 4, for location,. 50X1-HUM 5. At Zhdanov?Shipyard (approximately N 59-52.50, E 30-14-00) there was a destroyer of the same class on a slip. The vessel appeared to be almost completed. In addition there was another destroyer tied up at a pier. It appeared to be new. (N 59-55, E 30-15) port basin. On Kanonerskiy Island (approximately N 59-54-40, E 30-13-50) there was some construction work going on, and houses had just been completed. Othefe were being built. . 8. At Baltic Shipyard (Baltlyak /Ordzhonikida4 approximately N 59-55-20, E 30-15-40), point H on sketch No. 3, pW4, a cruiser was at anchor on. 19 August. It had two triple gun turrets on the foredeck, two funnels,. and a mast in front of each funnel. A short distance farther up the-river at point I on the same .sketch there was a destroyer. It was illuminated by a number of electric lamps strung up between the masts. 9. At Marti eiipyard (approximately 8:59-55-10, E 30-16.20) there was a cruiser or a destroyer at a pier in the channel at point K of sketch No. 3. This vessel was also lighted in the evening. 10. In BarochnyyBasin (approximately N 59-53?.30, E 30-13-20), point L on the same sketch, there was a floating drydock.* Its capacity was estimated at 5000 to 6000 tons. The drydock was empty. 11. At a small wooden pier between-the drydock and the Inflot offices there Were several of the different types of patrol vessels which were used to escort ships in the harbor.- All these vessels were marked with the lett~rt1=:(P)9 ~, and a three digit number. 50X1-HUM 12. In the basin there were two three-masted sailing vessels. they were used by the navigation school for the education of deck officers in the merchant marine. 50X1-HUM 13. During departure the situation at Zhdanoy 50X1-HUM Shipyard had changed somewhat. The destroyer which had been on the slip coins no longer be seen, and there were now only eight submarine chasers at the pier. vessel met a submarine chaser of the BO class. 50X1-HUM 15. Eight nautical miles SSW of Sarlboden (not located) vessel passed a four masted bark en route to Leningrad. 50X1-HUM two searchlights in the direction ofNtssaar Island (approximately N 59-33, E 24-31).
