Of the 900 tanks ordered 81 were completed during January 1953 and 20 in the period from 1 to 13 Pebruary 1953, a total of 101. he "wine tanks" are constructed so as to withstand a pressure of 5,3 atmoSpheres.. 3, The items ordered by DIA-Berlin are SovieL export contrscts, whereas those ordered by the SCC. Berlin, are reparations orders. 50X1 -HUM 4: Order for four large mixing tanks (grosse Ruehrwerkskessel) with a volume of 10,000 liters, enarelled on the inside. These tanks are delivered with two-bladed agitators, shaped like an anchor (Ankerruehrwerk) The enamelled containers nicknamed "jet planes"(Duesenjaeger) because of their external appearance, are cylinders 2.5 meters in diameter by four meters long.' One of the ends cf these cylinders is conical, with a hole in the nose 20 centimeters in diareter. The other end is funnel-shapt2t: with an opening 40 to 50 centireters in diareter, large enough to allow a man to enter. The cylinder is made of iron. They are being broken up, and work has started on two more. The designation "Duesenjaeger" is used offiea1l7 at Thais for these containers. 7. Order for a series of pressure filters (DruCkfilter) with a volume of about 1,500 liters, enamelled on the inside. These filters are 70 centimeters in diameter and 1.5 meters high. The top of the container is solid, but the bottom is removable and is fitted with asbestos packing* An opening 5 centimeters in diameter is left in the bottom. The filter is delivered with an enamelled iron tube for mounting a thermometer. The top is fitted with three large holes and one small hole. The small hole is for receiving the thermometer. The large holes are flannel-shaped, 5 centimeters in diameter on the outside surface and 3 centimeters on the inside surface. 8. Since 1949, the zaeel conertrizatioi(13.0hbau),iepartment of ,A1G Marten/Thale has delivered about 1,030 iron containers in the shape of a half-egg. They are about roughly, one meter in diameter, and they are delivered with logo and a cover. Thr stand about 1.5 meters high. Theae containers are then shipped by Thale to the Hescho-Kahla plant, which supplies the contents of the con- tainers. Hesdho then ships them direct to the USSR. On one occasion, in 1949, Hescho shipped one set of "contents" to Thale for testing the fit. The "contents" consisted of an object made entirely of porcelain, shared to fit the half-egg shape of the container. Included with these "contents" are a set of coiled copper pipes and a motor. These containers are made in slightly varying sizes. 9.
