3. There was a signal mast on the tip of Quarantine Harbor. The pier in
Quarantine Harbor was Ponstructed of stone, and had a cobblestone
surface. The pier in New Harbor was constructed of stone and wood; the
surface consisted of cobblestones, with the exception of the outermost
six or eight feet, which were wooden planks. The tip of the New Mole
appeared to have been damaged by an explosion.
4. The tip of 4uarantine Mole did not have an extension in a northwesterly
direction as shown on the Admiralty chart. Potaporskiy Mole was not
as long as was indicated on the same chart; there was a buoy in the
position shown on the chart at the end of the mole.
6.
A large, two?story, concrete warehouse was under construction in the
northwest corner of Quarantine Harbor.

The warehouse could not accommodate more
than 30,000 orange crates. In the northwest corner or Cabotage Harbor,
there was a large new construction, which was either a warehouse or a
repair shop. it was a repair shop, as
many workers entering and leaving the building.
7. There were large lots for the storage of cargo in quarantine Harbor.
Large quantities of steel pipe, lead, and tin were stored in the area.
There were also many bulldozers and tractors in this same area. On the
square at A1eksandr Park, there were approximately 50 new half-ton (liton ?)
trucks. Between the new warehouse and the pier in Quarantine Harbor
there is a railway track; all the railway tracks were flush with
the surface of the pier.

8. In New Harbor, there were faar, assembled mobile cranes, and one partly.
assembled mobile crane. The tracks for the cranes end at the old warehouse.
There were crane tracks, and cranes on both sides of Military Mole. Most of
the cranes were electric, but a few were steam-driven. These cranes were
the usual size, with a lifting capacity of five tons. There were a few,
American-manufactured, tractor-cranes in the harbor. On the northwest side
of Flatonovskiy Mole, there was a large floating crane.
9. There was a coal dump in New Harbor, and a coal and sand dump on the
Military Mole. There was a large amount of coal in these dumps in the
middle of winter, but there was very little remaining at the end of the
winter. It was apparently not bunker coal.
10. The entire port area was surrounded by a wall, which had been partially
demolished. There were two or three gates, but the main gate was in the
northwest corner of Cabotage Harbor. Pratique Harbor was being used as
a naval base. There was a 12-foot concrete wall with steel gates
surrounding this area. At the innermost part of Military Mole, the wall
ran along the edge of the pier.
11. In the northwest corner of Cabotage Harbor, there was a large floating
drydock. It was covered with concrete on the outside, and was possibly
made entirely of concrete
In FlIstique Harbor, there was a small floating drydock. In the Repair
Basin, there were four or five floating drydocks. One of these drydocks
was large, but the others were small; none of the drydocks had its own
crane.

At the signal station on Quarantine Mole, there were two passenger freighters,
one of 2,000 tons, and the ether of 2,500 tons. They appeared to be
undergoing repairs. In the southeast corner of Quarantine Harbor, there
were five or six cargo boats undergoing repair. On the southwest side of
Flatonovskiy Mole, there was a large passenger vessel being overhauled
The vessel's name appeared 50X1-HUM
to be ODNSSA. it was a former Polish vessel,
which before the war sailed to New York. In the large floating drydock
in the Repair Basin there was a 10,000-ton passenger vessel 50X1-HUM
it had two funnels. Inside the large
breakwater, a number of vessels were laid up. At the southeast end, there
was a 4,000-ton freighter, with the stern tied up to the breakwater and the
two anchors out. Several smaller vessels, which appeared to be concrete
lighters, were lying alongside the breakwater, no signs 50X1-HUM
of any shipbuilding activity in the harbor.
