Sawmill
No. 27 is located on the east side of the Dvina aver, spprogimateir
at Krivyak. The dock was the usual White Sea type with roice for
two ships.
2. There is a large cellulose or paper factory located directly north
of Sawmill No. 27. The factory has its own docking faetlities.

3. Sawmill No. 3 is located aboveArkhangelsk on the east shore of the
Dvina, This sawmill
has a good dock, with space for about three ship.a.?The dock was
covered with planks which gave it a good edge, but it balrivi-egrapFent.
At the pier there was a lighter which loaded some turned wooden objecta:
The objects looked like a large lid of about 75 centimeters in diameter,
and an edge of about 10 centimeters. they were
boxes for moulds. Sawmill No. 3 is the first sawmill' above Arkhangelsk.
It takes about an hour to travel from the sawmill to the city of
Arkhangelsk. There re less restrictions at Rawmill No. 3 than at the
other sawmills. It appeared that even the workers
were given more freedom, for instance, there were
patches of land the workers had cultivated inside the sawmill area,
and. that there were children inside the sawmill area and on the pier.
The guard on the dock was not particularly exacting

the exact location of sawmill
No. 5-7 is in one of harbors west of Arkhangelsk,
but not Nikolskiy Channel (N 64-33 3 40-1 ). The distance from
sawmill Ni. 3 to sawmill No. 5-7 estimated to be between
nine and ten nautical miles.

5. At the naval station on Solombala (N 64-36, X 40-33), there were three
or four small naval vessels, of an old type. They were-not more than
145 feez in length and were steam powered. The ships had level decks,
one funnel, and a small mast in front of the bridge. Their armament
consisted of a six-pounder on the after dock, and a small antiaircraft
gun aft of the bridge. The foredeck was clear.
At the naval station,
there were also four. small minesweepers with square sterns

a small shipyard, which builds small wooden lighters. These lighters
are not larger than the usual lifeboat: they have pointed bows and
square sterns.

various sawmills, observed pictures of Stalin, but did not
see any pictures of Malenkov.
