2. observed 15 naval vessels tied up three abreast at Solombala
(N 6)+-36, E 40-13). Each vessel was between'2000 and 3,000 tons, and
eadhhadaflush deck and one stack. Some of the ships had slanted sterns
while others had curved sterns. All the vessels were very low in the
water.
3. There was a vessel of 4,000 to 5,000 tons in one of the floating drydocks at
Solombala. the dock was not able to raise the vessei-50X1 -HUM
The stern end of the vessel was flush with the dock but the bow extended out
over the dock. The stern of the vessel was raised but the bow was down in
the water. The dock was slanting about 30 to 40 degrees. Work was being
done on the vessel's propeller.

There were no runways at the airfield on Keg Island. Several hangars with
arched roofs were located in the southwestern section of the field.
Several large,
green, twin-engine aircraft Were parked on the field. Aircraft were seldom
observed in the air.

some boards for crates were stored in the area.- These boards were loaded
on large lighters which lay at the pier. observed one-lighter
at the pier. They were wooden lighters with cabins and
they were probably used only on the river.

6, On the island west of Sawmill No. 9-10 there was a farm OP -which
observed potato fields.

The pier as just long enough to accommodate
two ships. Hovever, the pier Was being extended, at the upper end. The neW
section,which was still under cOnstruction)appeared to be 50 to 60 meters
long. It was built of scrap lumber and sawdust. The usual pilings were not

Sawmill No. 23 was quite largeandafence surrounded the entire area.
The entrance was located in the southwestern corner of the area, South of the
buildings marked on the city map. There was a male guard at the gate. -
Just south of the? lumber pier there was a small ferry piet. In order to enter
the sawmill area from the ferry pier, it was necessary to go around the entire
sawmill area and enter through the gate. On the opposite side of the river
there was also a small floating pier which was used as a ferry pier.
