1. An unidentified number of heavy antiaircraft guns are located behind a small
hill immediately south-southeast of Kazanliik. In this vicinity there are
approximately four light automatic antiaircraft guns.
2. Eight searchlights are located in the vicinity of Stara Zagora. A tall building
surmounted by a white light is situated in the center of town.
3. At a fork in the Stara Zagora-Chirpan road, at the southwest corner of Stara
Zagora, there is a deep excavation 160 x 160 meters in size. Heavy earth-
moving equipment is being used, the area is brilliantly lighted, and work was
observed in progress as late as midnight.
11.0 Sofia/Bozhurishte airfield is well lighted and includes runway and approach
lights. Approximately two kilometers south-southeast of the airfield there
are two masts, each 50-60 meters high, with white lights at the top center,
and bottom.
