1. The JS-4 Soviet heavy tank is to be re4aced by the T-10 heavy tank in the
Kantomirovakiy Tank Division in Moscow. Although source has no detailed
information on the T-10 tank, he thinks that it is nearly identical with .
the JS-4 tank, but with oertain minor unspeoified improvements.
2. The JS-4 heavy tank is still being produced and it is the standard tank in
heavy tank units of the Soviet Army.

Comment: The fact that the designation T-10 has been given to this 50X1-HUM-
new tank ma $ indicate a trend towards standardizing all tank designations
with the letter "To. Another explanation might be that this move is in
keeping with the general emphasis in the USSR on collective action, rather
than exclusively identifying an individual with an object or action(ie. the "
desi nation stands for Josif Stalin). 50X1-11UM
