Before the use of perlon or orlon gauze, gauzes made of chrome nickel. and.
Phosphor-bronze wire were tried. These, however, proved impracticable, as
almost immediately the threads moved out of position, thus rendering the gauze
useless. In the case of perlon and orlon it is possible to weld. the threads
together.
