(8) Battalion dispensary and hospital, 20 x 6 meters, brick, ground floor only. (9) Indoor swimming pool (10) Alert and assembly area, also used an parade field and training area. (11) Warehouse, 30 x 15 meters, ground floor only, brick. Utilized for the storage of field equipment and clothing. This building also housed the supply issue section. (12) Automotive repair shop, 20 x 10 meters, ground floor only, bricks (13) Open storage area, contained timber used in the construction of bridges. (14+) Repair shop, 10 x 5 maters, connected to the automotive park shed. (15) Automotive park shed; all types of engineer equipment parked here. (16) Supply room., all types of foodstuff stored in these two buildings. (17) Repair shop was assigned to the engineer battalion in Gyor. Was utilized by that unit when its vehicles were attached to the subject kaserne. (18) Shops, 15 x 15 meters, ground floor only. Contained woodworking shop and bridge models. SUPPLEMENT TO REPORT # IVE TO THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION is report is the result of a joint collection effort by the Air Force, the avy, the A mW and CIA and is disseminated in accordance with the provisions ofti]. 1. Engineer Battalion PF 7274 was subordinate to the Rifle Division PP 7203 in Kapoevar. Another reinforced engineer battalion was located in Gyor, (PF 8091), and was subordinate to the same division. 2. the battalion it consisted of three companies of approxi safely 75 to 80 men each. The companies were known as Combat Bridge Construetio Coaaiany, Technical Company and Road Construction Company. The technical company contained engineers, draftsmen and other such skilled personnel. 3. The principal duty of all the companies to pick up mines and obstacles along the Austrian and Yugoslavian 'orders. The entire border was cleared of such mines by the end of September 1956. 4. Vehicles used by the battalion were kept in the kaserne. They were in constant need of repairs because of lack of skille4.r+brlichanics. The vehicles were: A. 38 Csepel 350 type gasoline and diesel-operated 3.2-.ton trucks. B. 5 model 418 Stalinyets tractors C. 1 Czech Skoda shop truck, diesel-operated D. 4 Csepel 350 type 32-ton shop trucks and generators E. 1 Gaz Soviet-type jeep A.
