Cargo Ladling operations in the rt of Tsingtao were ve o . no cranes in the vicinity. a flouting craze used to place smaller mobile cranes on the deck of another vessel (unidentified). lin the Inner Harbor just outside the entrance to the Great Harbor when, at about 0630, the ship was boarded by customs officials, medical inspectors, and guards. The ship's crew was mustered on deck and the vessel searched by several parties of two or three men each. Instruments were not used and searchers appeared to be looking for bombs as they did not search small places such as small drawers of desks. After the search, two guards remained wooard until the ship tied up at the >ier.
