Method for the Application of Lubricant Films on the Basis of
Molybdenum Disulfid, on Friction Surfaces.
Application filed on June 16, 1959,'under No.631175/23-, with the
"Committee on inventions ,and Discoveries", Council of Ministers
of the USSR. Published in the "Bulletin of Inventions",, No. 7,
in the year 1960.
It is known 'that .molybdernnm.?disulfide possesses highly adsorptive
qualities. r{owever; the lubricant films obtained by Its use,
when applied to friction surfaces, quickly wear out. Td increase
the wear life of the lubricant films, epoxy-modified amines and
polyvinylbutyral resins are. introduced into the lubricant comp- .
osition as binding agents, which, however, have low thermal
stability. The described method of application of films of the
lubricant composition on. the `basis of molybdera dteulfide on
friction surfaces eliminates deficiencies whip i had been pointed
oUt and increases. the wear life of the points - of friction at'
high tem eratures iX a high vacuum.
