The dump was used for storing bombs for the Polish Air Forces, including bombs of very large size. Numerous above-ground two-story storehouses, each with three large rooms, were lomted in the dump. c. Patrols with police dogs were observed on the danger line between two fences around the dump. The fences were illuminated at night. The bombs in sealed boxcars2 pulled by a steam locomotive of the PoliSh'railways? were transported on the single-track line from the Bezwola r i/road station to the barracks installation. The pidewalls of the boxcars which were always guarded had attached slips of paper with the Polish inscription reading "furniture", "glass", "handle with care". The lexcare were drawn (or pushed?) from the barracks installation into the ammunition dump by a Diesel locomotive Which was permanently stationed there. The maximum number of boxcars par Shipment was 20. The guard and servicing unit of the dump was stationed in the barracks installation bordering the dump in the west. The unit had an estimated strength of about 50 officers and 300 ACOs and EH including 200 guards with a two-year term of serviee and 100 men of the dump personnel with three-year term of service. The guards were equipped with submadhine guns.
