Voroshilov Works in Dubnica nad Vahom, Slova1 .ao Its distribution among artillery units started in the fall of 1953. Its distribution among artillery units 25X1 started in the fall of 1953? It was said that the main advantage of the new gun is its long range of fire. ? Description of the gun (see the sketch) (1) Barrel with three gradual strengthenings in the thickness. The length is 5116 cm; right-hand rifling, 211 fields ahd Zia grooves; barrel ends with a nuzzle brake, which supposedljy softens the recoil by 35 S. (2) Double spade which opens sideways; the half-spades are workedto eyes for road transportation. when the half-epades are opened they have autematie catches which keep them in the open position. The catches have to be pressed in when the gun is made rea4 for road transportation. Improvement was suggested in the way of small wheels fixed to the spade which could be raised and would thus aid in shifting the gun oa small diztamcos (now the trails must be raised in the air); new guns will allegedly have the small wheels. (3) (4) Whaels with full metal discs, 44 era in diamoter, with pressed on rubber tires and ball bearings; gauge 206 cm; drum brakes. Shield, about 160 x 160 cm large, 2.5 cm thick, with two openings in the left half; lowest part can be fG.lded up for road transportation. (5) Spring counterbalanceirs. (6) Hand elevatitrr and horizontal gears; elevation range from plus 60? to minus 3??; horizontal move 115? on each side. Gun sights have two telescopes, one for direct aiming and another one for indi- rect fire.
