NIZHNI~TAGIL:
1. The City of NizhniY-Tail. It is a large town of about one million
inhabitants. It has many industrial installations,
2. SHII3POTREB. In the northern part of the city, near Camp #1,
there was a large factory complex.
A high fence completely surrounded it.
The area covered was about 4 x 4 kilometers

600 prisoners and many free workers were employed there
under the supervision of free engineers.

consumer goods: spoons, cloth, and other household utensils.

5. Near Camp #1 was a larger hospital called "Mezhduoblastnaya bol-
uitsa," It was made up of four, one-story, wooden buildings, each about
35-40 g 15 meters. They were all alike. One was for internal diseases,
one for surgery, one for TB, and one was used by the invalids who worked in
the hospital, Each building had one Chief and some specialists. all the
Soviet doctors were women.

worked with the criminals, sharing their loot. For instance, when new pri-
soners arrived, they were robbed of their clothes and the nadziratel was the
