1957 Plan
At the end of November 1956, ObiEkt 6 Headquarters ordered the Kombinate to prepare
their technical plans for the year 1957. In addition to a general exhortation to
increase production,the Kombinate were asked to pay particular attention to the
following points:
a. The reduction of personnel;
b. Acceleration of gallery advance in the direction of Hammerbruecke;
c. Increasing of the proportion of used to unused material in the mining ore.
9. A meeting of the leading members of Kombinat 241 took place early in December 1956,
to discuss details of the technical plan for 1957. The Appendix is an English
translation of a draft plan approved b .this meeting, drawn up in its final form by
Oberingenieur Jegorov.
10. The Hammerbrueclworkings mentioned in this draft plan lie about 8 kms. from 25X1
Schneckenstein. Geological borings have shown that rich deposits of ore can be
expected in the Hammerbruecke area, and the existing Schneckenstein workings of
Kombinate 241 are being advanced about 600 meters in order to reach the ore seams.

Personnel
11. It is now planned that the working force of Kombinat 241, at present numbering 1,800,
shall be reduced in the next few months to 1,500 and eventually to a target figure
of 1,000.
12. The Russian engineer Peshidayev, fnu, who was employed in the O.T.K.l, has gone back
to the USSR and his place has been taken by a German engineer, Siegfried Tunger.

Technical Plan
1. To transfer to remote control, the work of the elevators of Schacht 241,
the main elevator of Schacht 347 and some of the blind shafts.
III quarter
2. To mechanize the feeding of small trucks travelling to the round dumps over
an area. of 476 meters,

3. To automate the work of RKSI assembly on the 4.75 meter level.

4. In the most distant mining stcpes to transfer men engaged in blasting to stope
brigades.

5. In order to increase the speed of horizontal face borings, the strength of which
exceeds category 8, a new scheme of agitation (drilling with a template) is to
be installed.

6. To reduce engineering and technical personnel in sectors No. 1 and 2 by
reducing the number of sectors ( to amalgamate Sector 1 with Sector 3, and Sector
2 with Sector 4).

15. To complete deepening operations in the blind shaft 420/2 by 1 Nay 1957-
a. The opening of the ore vein; Dal',nyaya, and the apophysis, Dal'nyaya, on the
level 145 meters.by 1 April 1957.11
b. The opening of the ore vein, Dal'nyaya, and the apophysis, Dal' nyaya, on the
horizental level 100 meters,to be finished by 1 August 1957.
16. To complete the opening of 1jammerbruecke workings in the first zone (kvartal).

17. To build a stationary transformer substation in the Ha]rmerbruecke region.

18. To improve the ventilation at Hammerbruecke workings by installing equipment which
will circulate 100,000 m 3 of air per hour in mining drift 489 and zero mining
