The factory is io ated on the left bank of the Elbe in Decin, in the
O
vicinity of the harbor of Rozbelesky pristav, where the Czech ships of the
Elbe-Oder line pass the winter and where there are also the transshipment
points for lumber and cement.
The enterprise is a large one and manufactures mainly metal containers,
gasoline tanks, oil tanks, milk containers, and special railroad cars. The
factory also has vast rooms in which aircraft fusel are assembled.
These are large units, 30 meters long, cigar-shaped, and called "cigars"
by the workers.
The assembled fuselages are intended for IL-14+ planes. Men and women
are engaged in their manufacture. Production is carried on in such a way
that the workers have a minimum knowledge of what they are doing and of
its purpose. The rooms are separated, and visits among workers are hin-
dered if not altogether prohibited. The workers have, in addition, been
ordered not to talk about their work.
The factory is in the vicinity of the Podmokly station and between the
railroad track and the factory there are some garages of the Border Guard
units, so that the plant is guarded on all sides.

All the products of the factory are transported by closed trucks or
railroad cars -- even the civilian consumer goods, containers, etc. The
entire production is considered important from the ~'Llrate.gic point of view.
In addition to the containers, turbine propellers are also turned out
in the factory.
All the aircraft parts are transported by truck to the airfield in
Odelena Voda (north of Prague, between Maslovice and Postriz), where they
are assembled in the aircraft hangars.
Also constructed and assembled here are the so-called "propruzory",
i.e., motor speed boats for the corps of engineers, as well as pontoons
(so-called "Soulodi"), consisting of two or three boats tied together,
which are used in bridge construction. These boats each have a crew of 15
and a Tatra Model ill engine. When completed, these boats are tested and
then placed at the disposal of neighboring garrisons or garrisons located
near a river, such as Prague, Terezin, Bratislava, etc.
Working in the factory are 500 male and female workers, including
Karel Ryznar
Josef Potmesil,
