The 50X1-HUM ship made no use of a tug-boat; neither upon its arrival, nor upon its departure. Ili passenger ship (ferry boat) was further observed. This makes regular daily trips to Vladivostok. Four (4) soviet sub-marines and two (2) coast guard vessels were oL;served being anchored near the mole of the naval base. Details were not observed. Upon he ship's arrival, the Captain signed ready-siade 'declarations '-ri L-h regard to armament, ammunitions, radio sets, pigeons, etc., but no search was carried'out.on board.the ship by,either the security or the customs, nor were the members of the crer: going ashore subjected to any search. The ship was guarded day and night throughout its stay in the harbor, by three (3) no1_ice- men armed with pistols. These guards stood on the mole at the hors, the stern and near the ladder. The crew were free to go ashore on the basis of their seamen's booklets and a Hass perforated into two harts.
