URBAN AREA OF WARSAW
Reference is made to Inclosure 1 which is an overlay based
on a non-standard city plan of Warsaw (Plan Dzielnic Cen-
tralnych M. St. Warezawy) on which the 50X1-HUM
following installations. Numbers in parentheses refer to
numbers on the overlay. All dimensions are approximate,

1m. Tad Koscziuszki) located at number 11 Listopada
Avenue. The strength of this regiment was about 1000
men,
Warsaw Cytadela - an old fortification which housed
the Headquarters, Warsaw Military District, and an
unidentified AAA division headquarters,
Infantry Regiment ? part of the lot division (Dvwizii
Prison ? for both civilian and military personnel.
UB Headquarters, Warsaw District (Wojewodzki Komitet
do Spraw Bezpieczenstwa) m located on Nowotki Street
near the Theater Muranow. The four-story building was
made of brick and measured 60X40725 meters. No further,
information.
(5)- Ministry of Health (Ministerstwo Zdrowia) - located at
number 5 Miodowa Avenue. It was a five-story brick
building measuring 80X60X25 meters. Colonel KOWALSKI
was head of the Military Department.
(6) Central Council of Trade Unions (Centralna Rada Zwiaz-
kow Zawodowych) ? located on Nowy Zjazd Street. The
brick building was eight stories high and measured 50X
40X40 meters. The newspaper Trybuna Ludu was pub-
lished in this building.
(7) Council of Ministers Offices (Urzad Rady Ministrow)
located in the suburb of Krakowskie. The building was
constructed of brick, was five stories high and meas-
ured 30X3OX25 meters. Colonel MASKALIK was head of
the Military Department.
(8) Attorney General (Qeneralna Prokuratura) - located on
Krakowskie Street. This was a four-story building,
brick, measuring 25X25X25 meters, Marian RYBICKI was
the chief of the section,
(9) Command Headquarters, Armoured and Motorized (Dowodztwo
Wo3ak Pancernych I Zmotoryzowanych) - located on
Dzierzynakiego Circle. The division commander was Gen-
eral SUCHOW. The brick building was three stones high
and measured 35X50X35 meterse

(11) Ministry of Culture 4hd Art - (Ministerstwo Kultur i Sztuki~ - a
three-story brick building measuring 50X2?X15 meters,
(12) Ministry-of National-Defense Offices - located at number
2 Kr?lewska Street near.Zwyeiestwo Square. The Vice
Minister of National Defense, General ZARZYCKI) had offices
there.
(13) Ministry of National Defense Offices - located at num-
ber 1 Krolewska Street near Zwyciestwo Square.
(14) Ministry of Communication (Ministerstwo Lacznosci) -
located on Malachowskiego Square and the corner of
Romualda Tmaugguutta Street. The six-story, brick build-
ing measured 40X40X3O meters.
(15) Polish Army Museum (Museum Wojaka Polskiego) - located
on Trzeciego Mafia Avenue. The six-story, brick build-
ing measured 50X5OX30 meters. A co tys 4 located to
the east of the building was used for display of tanks,
aircraft, guns, etc. Colonel KONIECZNY was in charge
of the museum.
(16) National Museum (Museum Nar?dowe) --located on Trzeciego
Maja Avenue. The six-story, brick building measured
50X5OX3O meters.
(l) Central Committee of the Communist Party (Komitet
Centralny PZPR) - located on Trzeciego Maja Street. The
eight-story, brick and concrete building measured
80X80X50 meters..
(18) Ministry of Electric Power (Ministerstwo Energetyki -
located an Mysia Street. The five-story brick building
measured 20X2OX20 meters.
(19)- Ministry of Municipal Services (Ministerstwo Komunalnej)---
the five-story,. brick building measured 10X15X20 meters.
Comonel KUSZNEREK was head of the Military Department.
(20) Ministry for Construction Material Industry (Ministerstwo
Przemyslu Materialow Budowlanych) - located at number
6 Zurawia Street. The six-story, brick building meas-
ured 30X30X30 meters.
(21) Ministry of Mining (Ministerstwo Gornictwa), Central
Petroleum Administration (Centralny Urzad Naftowy),
Ministry of Machine Industry (Ministerstwo Przemyslu
Maszynowego) all located in the same seven-story, brick
building measuring 50X5OX30 meters.

curriculum included subjects such as economics, history,,
politics, etc. The course lasted for about two years.
(37) National Defense Minister's Office (Cabinet 'Ministra
Obrony Narodowe.j) and Chief of General Staff (Szef
Sztabu Generalnego) - the three-story, brick building
measured.30X20X20 meters.
(38) Quarters of. Minister of National Defense (Mieszkanie

five-story. brick building measured 400X100x30 meters.
(42) General Staff (Sztab Genera1ny) - located at Numbers 2A and
4A Rakowlecka Street. The-five'sto'ry, brick building
measured 40X100X25 meters. In addition to the General
Staff-offices, -this building contained an underground
communications center. .

(46) Military Hospital (Szpital MON) a six-story, brick
building measuring 100X20X25.meters. A 500-bed military
hospital, dependents of military personnel were also
accommodated.
(47) Ministry of Railroads (Ministerstwo Kolei) - located at
number 2 Chalubinskiego Street. The seven-story, brick
building measured 10OX10OX40 meters. The Minister of
Railroads was named STRZELECKI and the Director of the
Miary Department was Colonel SLIWINSKI0.
(48) Ministry of Air and Highways Transportation (Minister-
stwo Transportu Drogowew i Lot.niczego) - located at num-
ber 4 Chalubinskiego Street. The building was made of
reinforced concrete, was 15 stories high and measured
50X50X50 meters. The Minister of Transport was Colonel
Juliusz BURGIN,

chief of this section was Lt Colonel CHOJNAO The five-
story, brick building measured 20X2OX2O meters. The
primary mission of this section was the procurement of
all housekeeping supplies for the offices under-the
Ministry of National Defense.
.(51) Department Military Justice (Sluzba Sprawiedliwoeci Woj-
ska) - a five-story, brick building measuring 30X2OX2O
meters. This department was further divided into two
sections: (1) Chief Prosecutor (Naczelna Prokuratura),
Lt. Colonel RYBA; (2) Judiciary Administration (Zarzad
Sadownictwa) under Colonel KARLINERO
(52) Officers Quarters (Blok Oficereki) - located at 28
Nowowiejska Street. The five-story,brick building.meas-
ured 30X3OX25 meters,
