1. The ammunition depot at PUSZ`TAVACS was constructed
during 1951/192 at the same place where the pre-war a munition
depot was built durin 1939-1-940. The lati;er wa. destroyed
during the war.
2. The new depot stretches beyond the area of the original
one in a north-easterly direction. it is situated 3,500 metres
from the railway station of OR M?VY; and the road to the depot
branches off the main road from ORKe,NY to PU SZT, VACS.

The area of the depot is about 1600 metres by 1.100 ::metres.
At a distance of 150 - 200 metres from the entrance, on the
right-hand side, are various buildings coriiorising the c uarter,c;
of the co 1,ianding officer, living quarters for a_Zd other
ranks, recreation centre and hospital, et(.,-,, The do not guarded by one company of troops.
4. The depot is surrounded by two ro,/,. of barbed ;sire 30
metres apart, with trees alid bushes between. t-Lt the four
corners formed by the fences there are watch towers with. search.-
lights.

The ammunition is store', along the :ides of the various
storehouses the central floor space being left clear.
Each storehouw has three entrances, and in front of each there
are loading-ram ps covered with concrete and 1.12 metres in height,
so as to be level with the floor of the
loading.

6. The various roads inside the depot which were built
in 1951 - 1952 were so made as to allow the construction
of a ravlway track alongside.
The macadam
road was constructed for medium weight traffic and has a
basic layer of stone 18 centimetres thick. On this are
12 centimetres of coarse gravel topped with 2 centimetres of
fine gavel and 2 centimetres of sand (total thickness 34 c:n).
Til':) thickness of the storehouse walls is 25 centimetres.
The roof is composed of sections of pre- fabricated, reinforced
concrete beans, covered with pre-fabricated reinforced concrete
slabs with bricks. This is topped with two layers of
bituminous gavel. The ceiling is covered with panels of
reed plastered over,
7. in the period before the revolution light infantry
aimunition was stored in this depot for rifles, sub-Lachine
guns, anti-tank rifles, machine guns and Mortars. Ammunition
was first stored there in August 1952 when the depot was still
