GROSS DOELLN airfield - construction of underground
Pipeline and other miscellaneous information.
Appendix:
Attached as an appendix is a rough sketch
showing the rcute followed by the new
underground fuel pipeline.
1. CONSTRUCTION OF NEW PIPELINE
(a) A new underground fuel pipeline has very recently been
completed. This extends between the fuel installation now
under construction in Jagen 133 (approximately 9 kms. SW of
GROSS DOELLN airfield) and the dispersal system at the southern
and of the N/S taxiway adjoining the village of KLEIN DOELLN.
(b) This pipeline extends from approximately MR 92757550
(adjoining the rail spur leading into the site) eastwards
along the southern side of the main GROSS DOELLN/ZEHDENICK
road and crosses under the roadway on the eastern outskirts
of KLEIN DOELLN, 6 metres west of km. stone 6.5. At this
point the new pipeline proceeds northwards through the a:rfield
perimeter fence and into the dispersal area. The terminal
could not be ascertained.
(a) The trench containing this pipeline is approximately 1j
metres in depth but it was not ascertained how many pipes were
actually laid.
(d) At MR 92757550 the new pipeline joins ;with another,
earlier-laid pipeline which proceeds northwards in the direction
of the main airfield rail spur. This second pipeline is
reported to extend as far as the airfield itself, but the
exact route is not known.
NO. 1 STORAGE DEPOT
This storage depot is now strongly guarded by S.A.F. sentries,
who also patrol the woodlands between the barbed wire fence and the
nearby GROSS DOELLN/ZEMENICK road. This roadway is still open to the
public but its entire northern side, approximately between Jagen 104 and the
Eastern side of KLEIN DOELLN is sign-posted "Speergebiet - Betroten V:,,rboten".

MISCELLANEOUS
The only German workmen employed on construction in this area
are concentrated at the fuel depot site in Jagen 133. All the
former BAU UNION BRANDENBURG and BERLIN employees previously
corking on the airfield and living on a domestic site within the
airfield perimeter, have now been withdrawn and have moved away
from the district.
