SOURCE EVALUATIONS ARE DEFINITIVE. APPRAISAL OF CONTENT IS TENTATIVE
1. The Erfurter Ventilatoren and Apparatewerk continues to be
predominantly engaged in manufacturing for export. The plant
is having difficulty fulfilling its principal orders,
especially:
a. A power plant fora sugar factory of 2500 tons/day capacity
for the Soviet Union
b. Power plants for three Soviet sugar factories of 1500 tons/
day capacity (The Romadanovsk*4 the Roshdestv'enskiy and the
Balashavs]EtyI#s): 25X1
c. A thermal power plant destined for Vu-11u, China.
2. From year to year the plant has hoped to receive
orders for ship ventilation s, ,stems. After one such order was
received in 1956, expectations were 25X1
high. No such commissions have materialized during 1957.
Tentative orders have had to be declined by the plant because
the attendant delivery time (4-6 weeks) could not be met even 25X1
if all necessary materials had been at hand. rep-
peated encouragement, to produce suitable orders.
