A ten-page report including sketches, on the port of Novorossiysk The report touches on changes to navigational aids in the vicinity of the port details the pipeline facilities at the petroleum pier(with an annotated sketch), and presents a rather comprehensive account of naval and merchant shipping activity in the port, including two minesweepers and a Soviet cruiser, a o e wars p in the upper Adriatic Sea, in position (N 44-13, E 13-40), Jobserved a reddish lit object "like a beam" in the s4. It appeared to be moving from southeast to northwest, and disappeared like lightning. It is located to the left at the first turn out of the petroleum pier. 25X1 25X1 of the shore road and 25X1 4. The naval station is located by the mouth of the small river, TSEMES. b) AREAS where onen air warehouses are located. 5. A walled-in area is located across from the naval station. The area contained small buoys having a rhomboid shape and there were also several large ones. 6- Large quantities of lumber were placed in the remaining area of the above mentioned location. (Number 5). VARIOUS BUILDINGS: 9. Fish Factory. 10- A, large walled in area. A small factory which manufactures cement, bricks., and conduits (or conductors) was located nearby this area as seen from an open entrance, II.IiiVIGATION: 11- Alarge floating crane was in operation here. SHIPIARDS: 12- Location Location wms a hauled up torpedo boat was located. 13- Area where a small repair shipyard was located. Many sheds belonging to the shipm yard are located in this area. These poles were 50 meters apart. No persons or buildings were observed near these poles. b) NAVIGATION& Three grids were observed left of the entrance and at a distance of approximately 3/4/ of a mile away from the base of the Western Mble. The grids had three ships on them. 25X1 They were small tugs and they appeard to be old ones. a small repair shipyard. No cranes were observed. OBSERVED WARSHIPS: Small ships usually patrol the entrance of the gulf& it is Minesweepers the gulf Cruiser were minesweeping le the area of the entrance to was anchored outside the harbor The ship was completely blacked out at night. GENERAL: a) Lighthouses and radio lighthouses: The beacon at DOOB operates every 7- minutes; it is on for 40 and off 3". The radio lighthouses at "CAPE AY TODOR LT.H0","KIZ AUL POINT LT.HO" and DOOR POINTALT.HO", have changed. That is, the first one, instead of U(..-), as stated in the "ADMIRALTY LIST OF RADIO SIGNALSmOOPIN7 4ives AT : the second gives KA: and the third gives DR.
