From 22.50 to 01.30 hours, a success4.on of Soviet motorised military
columns drove through EBERSWALDE at approximately 5 - 10 minute
intervals in an east-west direction, leaving along the FINOW road.
Their place of origin was i.ot known.

All vehicles were driven with dimmed headlamps
e accompanying troops wore steel
trailers, mobile equipment and guns
were nearly all equipped with pneumatic brakes. The following
approximate count and identification of vehicles was made:
(a) At least 60 heavy mortars with towing ring at the muzzle.
(b) At least 12 medium sized mortars with barrels pointing rearwards
to the line of march.
(c) At least 35 he-ivy A/T guns, some with single and some with double
wheels. All guns had muzzle brakes.
(d) At least 20 light field howitzers, single wheels, very short
barrel.
(e) At least 25 A/A guns, 85m.
(f) At least 25 APC 6 x 6.
(g) At least 12 armoured reconnaisance veh.iclea, 2-axled.
(h) 2 range finders mounted on a 2-axled trailer accompanying the
A/A column.
(i) At least 12 generators on 2-axled trailers.
(j) At least 50 field kitchens.
(k) 2 unidentified equipment
