Inf Div descent.was the CO of this regi- ment The regiment 50X1-HUM was garrisoned in the old pre- war Polish casern in GARWOLIN during winter months, and from April to September,or October of each year it was in the summer camp and training area at CZERWONY BOR. (See Annex A for pinpoint location and description.) The regiment's equipment included an unknown number of 76-mm Guns, M1942 (ZIS-3) and 122-mm Howitzers, M1938,1? the latter towed by Studebaker-type trucks. Both of these weapons were World War II models of Soviet manufacture (with Russian in- scriptions). Military Regional Unk Command-WKR, WARSZAWA- MIASTO I 50X1 -HUM WARSAW CO was an unidentified Polish Army major. was situated on the top floor of a three-story stucco building located at Ulica' 50X1-HUM Grojska 75 in WARSAW. Approximately 15 officers and EM were seen at this. office. This headquarters was opened at this location in 1952. Military-Regional Unk Command-WKR, WARSZAWA- 'MIASTO II WARSAW- CO was unknown. The offices of this headquarters were in a two-story stucco building located on Ulica Ratuszowa in WARSAW-PRAGA. The entrance 50X1-HUM to the building bore a sign reading: "Military Regional Command, WARSZAWA-MIASTO II." U/i Military Hospital Ministry of WARSAW National Defense CO was unknown. This hospital was known to all residents as the "MON Military Hospital" (Szpital Woskowy MONu), and was located on Ulica Nowowiej- ska at the corner of Ale ja Niepodleglosci. This hospital gave medical care to all military personnel assigned to Ministry of National Defense offices in WARSAW and their dependents. Subordi- nation Location CO and Remarks The Institute of Applied Chemistry was located at Ulica Lacznosci 8 in the Zoliborz district of WARSAW and was headed by a civilian director, Professor HACKIEL, (fnu); it was subordinate to the Ministry of Chemical Industry. The primary work con- ducted at this institute consisted of experiments and research in explosive mate Ala and war gases. 7. 50X1-HUM U/i Military Ministry of ZIELONKA CO was unknown. Experimental and National Testing Station Defense (Wojskowa Stacja Doswiadczalno- badawcza MONu) at s s a on the ni- stry of National Defense tested all new weapons and equipment which were of Polish manufacture and intended'f or the Polish armed forces. Tests and experiments in the chemical field were conducted under the personal supervision of Professor Dr. Engineer Tadeusz URBANSKI, an ex- pert in explosives and a well known scholar, who wrote books on chemical and physi- cal subjects. 50X1-HUM Military personnel and their dependents were quartered in a newly built military housing project. Assignment to this station had to be approved by the Central Committee of the PZPR and by the Ministry of National Defense. The installation. was classified TOP SECRET (Scisle Tajna Stacja). Two water towers, each having a steel tank, capacity unknown, mounted on wooden poles about 12 to 15 m above the ground level. 5. Motor and equipment park. This area contained one, open wall garage, used for housing approximately 30 trucks and an unknown number of wash racks. An unknown number of artillery pieces (76-mm and 122-mm "caliber) were parked in the open. The motor park was located on the edge of the woods. 6. Tent camp occupied by staff officers, including an unknown number of Air Force officers. This camp housed the main body of the unidentified heavy artillery regiment troops. 8. Parking,area. An open air parking area for guns and trucks, equipped with an unknown number of wash racks. The number of guns and trucks parked here was unknown. 9. An unidentified corps headquarters was located in an old, one-story, stucco farm house. 10. Abandoned village of GRABOWKO.
