District National Council, District StB Headquarters and Public Security (V.B.) Headquarters; three-storied building, about 70 x 30 meters. 2. Local National Committee and Local Public Security HZ; north-east corner of the Main Square, two-storied, oldfashioned building, base about 45 x 45 meters. 3. A part of StB investigation premises and quarters for StB personnel; the two- storied, luxurious building is the property of the United SteelwoRrs in Kiadno. The building is east of the building # 2; it has a 3-meter high masonry wall protecting it from the street. The base is about 60 x 12 meters. 4? District secretariat of the Communist party is located on the west side of Gottwald Square; it is a squre complex of buildings, with the sides about 70 meters long. The building is three and four-storied. In the southern part of the complex is the District Institute of National Health. 6. Military training grounds is located south of the former Masaryk Barracks; it is about 1 square kilometer large and is being used also by the Svazarm. 5. District Military Administration and an unidentified motorized - or mechanized regiment; both located in former Masaryk Barracks. The original barracks built in 1938 were considerably enlarged in 1953 - 1955, especially by addition of officers' quarters and new storage buildings and garages. About 200 trucks and some antitank guns were observed. The regiment had about 2000 E.M. and officers. 7. Temporary military storehouse; wooden hut, about 40 x 8 meters, under permanent military guard. 8. Six 13-storied apartment houses for miners and steel workers were under construc- tion. The development was to be ready in 1957. 9. Water tower; the only one for the whole town. It is connected with the new dam on the Klicava river. 10. Housing development; recently built, contains four-storied apartment houses, bases about 120 x 12 meters large, a school and a department store. The development is occupied by steel workers and miners and was built by a state financed coope- rative. 11. Housing developments similar to # 10 under construction. 12. RR station Kladno Rozdelov on the Prague-Karlovy Vary RR line; small, only for passanger service. 13? RR ferroconcrete bridge built in 1939; the so-called Bustehradska RR line is used only for local transportation by the United Steel Works, Kladno. Winter stadium and a cooling plant; built in 1950, but new annexes have been built since. 16. District secretariat of Czechoslovak Youth League. 17. Vocational High School; has three sections, namely metallurgical, chemical and mechanical engineering. Among its 2,000 students there are about 300-4400 North Koreans. 18. Management of the Central Bohemian Coal Mines; older, twoQstoried building, the base measuring about 30 x 12 meters. 19. Eleven-year school (a combination of elementary and high schools); old, three- storied building. 20. StB safehouse, used for investigations. A three-storied building in which was formerly located a commercial firm Planografie; former proprietor Josef Hrdinka still lives in the building and is allegedly working for StB. 21. New air raid shelter adjoining Gottwald Square was built in 1954. The shelter is located next to the District Secretariat of the Communist party. 22. Main bus terminal - on both sides of the park. 23. Hospital. Has been considerably enlarged since 1949 and is supposed to be at present one of the largest establishment of its kind in the country. 24. RR stop; small, insignificant building. 25. Housing development; recently built, still being enlarged, consists of four- storied houses measuring about 120 x 12 meters. 26. Unidentified underground construction which was built in the forest in the years 1953-54 by politically well screened workers. 27. Bus terminal for the employees of the United Steel Works, Kladno. 28. Apprentices' Training Center; belongs to the United Steel Works. 29. Garages of the Czechoslovak Road Transport Corporation; have their own repair shops and gasoline storage. 30. Housing development Krocehlavy; still under construction. Consists of the same type of apartment houses as # 25.
