These were posted even in the factory mostly by boys of 10 years or younger who apneared very boldly and even threatened the guards at the factory not to tn1ce them do,in. On 22 Oct. 1956, students all over the city had tacked up nnos _ers on i-r-Iiic AVH men transporting arms in ned. Cross cars. the rebels slashed the tires of these cars so y couldnt go any further an then the cars were captured. They then found out that; these cars were loaded full of machine guns. They originally tried to?capture the munitions storage D lace in o, r it ci was heavily guarded by the Russians. The Russian commander in tha attack tHreatened to blow up the whole thing. In order to spare the neighborhood from a disaster, they rebels called off the attack. This storage place was the 25X1 largest in HungarT and among other. things, contained the Russian Bacilus Segyvereh guns. 1the T?rhole supply of munitions came to about 70,000 trucks (vans, railway cars). on 23 Oct. surrounded -.rith about 50 other On 25 Oct. the AVIH building on ?a'rzebet utcn, T?mas captured. several rebels were shot to death by the AVH. succeeded in suddenly overpowering the guard and. escaping.
