Soviet activity at ROSTOCK
(15 Jun 58
1. On 15 Jun 58 at 2130 hours a Russian military train was being off-
loaded at ROSTOCK station. The equipment was taken to the barracks in
the ULI!-EN Strasse and consisted as follows:
(a) 5 x ZIS-151, each aith a crew of 8-10 troops, and towing
107 mm. recoilless A./T guns.
(b) 6 x Z1S-151, each with a crest of 8-10 troops, and towing
85 m. A/T guns.
(c) 4 x tanks.
2. The tanks are describ.:d as follows:
(a) 5 - 5.5 metres long.
(b) Total height approximately 2 metres.
(c) Five bogey wheels and three top rollers.
(d) Two hatches in front glacis plate.
(e) The turret was low and at the back joined the hull
in a straight line.
(f) Gun - 2 - 2.5 metres long.
(g) No machine gun r"ount,;;d on turret.
The Ulmin Strasse Kaserne is now fully occupied by Russian troops.
No Russian units have loft ROSTOCK since March 1958.
