The war games were started in the area located between JIHLAVA and HAVLICKUV BROD (N49-37, E15-35)(UTM WQ-4295). While advancing, from MORAVSKY KRUMWV toward JIHLAVA, various other unidentified units on the move, including large numbers of trucks and some unidentified heavy tanks camouflaged (whitewashed) for winter warfare. The entire "exercise" took place during a period when a heavy snow covered the ground. During the entire "exercise", the regimental dispensary, which was set up in a Tatra-111 truck. The dispensary was located in the rear area with four other vehicles which housed the kitchen, ARMA (PX), supply and a truck used by the rear services officers as living quarters, The actual war games of the "exercise" lasted three da s the "exercise" took place. several ,jet planes were flying over the area where Several members of the 221st AT Arty Regt contracted tonsilitis at the beginning of and during the "exercise", some of them attended to at a 25X1 militar dispensary located 8-51,El6-O3)(UTM WQ-7612), Upon reaching ZNOJMO, directions to the nearest military dis- pensary from one of the officers in the convoy all units from ZNOJMO were on the move and were participating in the "exercise". Upon completion of the "exercise", the 221st AT Arty Regt boarded a troop train in PRIBISLAV (N49-35,E15-44)(UTM WQa9252) and detrained in NOVE ZAMKY. One section of this troop train, approximately 10 boxcars, was occupied by unidentified troops from STUROVO (N47-48,E18a-44) (UTM CT-2997)o the "exercise" was poorly organized and a failure. The 25X1 rear services officers, apparently did not know what was going on and were under the influence of alcohol most of the time. There was no critique at the end of the "exercise", about 25X1 three generals were present at the exercises and were dissatisfied with its exe- cution. 25X1 C D vJ F i E tJ i I A L_._ Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2010/08/18: CIA-RDP80T00246AO44300020001-7 Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2010/08/18: CIA-RDP80T00246AO44300020001-7 C 0 N F ~ C tJ 7-1 P\ L-- BRATISLAVA Map References BRATISLAVA, Czechoslovakia Scale s s , C0rJ F.N1Tt Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2010/08/18: CIA-RDP80T00246AO44300020001-7 Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2010/08/18: CIA-RDP80T00246AO44300020001-7 b r- F l I> L T` . 7?t L__ Legend to Annex E 1, Pioneer Recreational Center.
