(July 1957.) Name: ZAKLADY NAPRAWCZI TABORU KOLEJOWEGO (Combined factory for construction and repair of railroad c^i ). Location: (See sketch at the side.) In the outskirts of thi, mentioned city. Q1,500 meters southeast of the railroad station. On Wroclawaka Road. Subsid : Of the Railroads Ministry. Director: Engineer Leonari MALECKI, Parliament for the rovince of Ostrm Deputy to Technicians Lragineer , the construction department Engineer SMOK (fnu) , engineer Labor force employed: About 7,000 workers. Work shifts: Three shifts of 8 hours each. Pair: Engineers - 3,,000 slotys a month; Skilled workers - 1,100 zlotys a month; Unskilled workers - 800 zlotys a month. (2) Refrigerator cars of two types: a) With Diesel engines (See sketch at the side.) Features: - Li-cylinder Diesel engine (No. 1), - water tanks (Nos. 2 & 3), - pipes to circulate the water (No. ii), - coils (No. 5). Operation: The engine circulates the water)which is cooled by means of ventilators. The cooled water passes through the pipes to the coils installed in the cars. This continuous circulatory system can refrigerate 4 railroad cars, two connected in front and two in back of the refrigerator car. b) With dry ice (See sketch at the side.) Features: - a tank for dry ice inside, - an iron doorway with 2 doors, - 4 windows, - 2 alv-46e led :ventilators placed at the ends of the roof, - painted with white enamel. Note: This refrigerator car is an independent unit. Its-*.. construction was begun in January 1957, and it was the only model di gaayed?.. at the Poznan Fair, where it caused considerable interest. Other activities: repair of freight cars. Production figures: 2nd-class passenger cars - 9-10 a month, Diesel equipped refrigerator cars - 2-3 a month, Dry-ice refrigerator cars - one finished in April 1957 and another still under construction, Heating cars - 3-4 a month. Source of raw materials: Iron from East Germany. Steel fr=E= and Upper Silesia. Note: the work was frequently suspended because of lack of raw materials. During one of suspensions, the Minister for Railroads, RAPACKI, arrived for a visit to the factory and ordered the directors to keep producing relying on the ferrous aei~ and other recovered by remelting at the factory itself. Note: In January 1957, 10 second-class passenger cars were sent to the Albanian Government, and 2 dry-ice refrigerator cars are presently being constructed for the same country. Note: the infirmary is well-equipped and has an 25X1 X-ray room and an operating room.
